What exactly is online training?
We provide live online training courses & workshops so that you can attend wherever you are. All you’ll need is an Internet connection and some kind of computer – be it laptop, desktop or mobile device. The courses are run in real time so even though we can’t see you, we can immediately respond to your questions as we go through the course. We use Zoom, Google meet or Jitsi meet for online meetings and will send our meeting room link when we confirm the appointment.
How do I attend an online training course? Do I need special equipment?
No special equipment is required to attend our courses, but you will need a stable Internet connection. If you’re in an open plan office you might like to wear headphones. On the day, simply click your unique link to attend (this will have been emailed through to you beforehand) and this will connect you to the session.
The currently scheduled training dates don’t work for me, what are my options?
Any of our training courses can be run as a one-on-one session – this can be arranged at a time convenient to you, either face-to-face or online. Contact us to discuss this further. Alternatively, if it’s an online training course you’re interested in, we sell recordings of previous sessions – please contact us if you would like to purchase a recording.
Can I record the meeting?
Online meetings are automatically recorded, and you’ll be sent a link to the recording along with your invoice. You are welcome to bring a recording device with you to our office.
Where are the face-to-face training courses held?
Our face-to-face training is held in our office in Nabeul or in your place, University, Institution or Company under previous arrangement.
Can you run a training course for my University/organisation?
Absolutely! Any of our training courses can be customised to your research team, department, or postgraduate students. Whether you’re wanting a one-off course or a series of courses to increase the research capacity within your organisation, we’re more than happy to discuss your needs and recommend a suitable programme. Contact us for further information.
How can I pay for a service?
You can pay either by bank transfer, cheque or cash. A payment recipe will of course be delivered.
How much does it cost?
As this type of assistance is project specific, it’s best to contact us to discuss how we can assist and what costs are involved – we’ll provide a quote so you know exactly what to expect. Outsourcing to us may be cheaper than you think – because we’re experts and have streamlined systems in place, we’re able to complete your research quickly and efficiently.
What about attributing assistance and intellectual property rights?
We do not expect to be included as a named author in any publication(s) that may result from the analysis or writing we complete. You own the research – asking us to give you a helping hand does not change this.
What about confidentiality?
We’re researchers too, so you can be rest assured that any data or other information we view will be kept confidential. We’re happy to sign a confidentiality agreement for your project – send us one specific to your research or we can provide one for you.
I’m a student – can you analyse my data and write my results for me?
We’re more than happy to provide research advice for your project, but you will need to undertake the analysis and writing work yourself. We are here to help you. This policy applies to any piece of student work that will be graded.
I’m a PhD/master's student – will my supervisor mind if I come and see you?
We would encourage you to let them know that you’re coming to see us. Many students we work with have been recommended to us by their supervisors and you’re welcome to bring your supervisor(s) with you if this would be helpful – we don’t charge extra for this and would welcome their input into the session.
What kind of documents do you format?
We format theses, dissertations, journal articles and reports.
What does formatting involve?
Formatting relates to the appearance and layout of your document. Formatting involves, but is not limited to:
Compiling documents, inserting images, tables and appendices
Setting margins, paper size, page orientation, checking text flow
Creating and applying styles to headings, subheadings, paragraphs, lists, numbering and quotes
Inserting page numbers
Numbering figures, tables, and equations
Creating a table of contents, list of figures, list of tables
Creating professional looking images and diagrams that best represent your research concepts
These are just a few of the aspects we look at. We’ll detail all the work we will complete in your quote.
Is the formatting and proofreading really that important? Surely content is the most important thing?
Yes, the content certainly is the most important aspect of your document but all readers are influenced by the presentation. If a document is presented professionally, the reader may have a more favourable attitude towards the actual writing.
